Visit the Museum
We are a Texas and Parker County History museum, featuring permanent exhibits on Early Settlements in Texas, Cattle Drives, Native American Life in Parker County, and Mary Martin & Larry Hagman.
Self Guided Tours
We are Free to the public for self guided tours and are open Tuesday – Saturday 10a-5p, on Thursday’s we are open late 10a-8p
Pioneer Cabin Park will open to the public March 21st 2024:
Park Hours :
Tuesday-Saturday 10am-5pm
Thursday 10am-8pm or Dusk
The inside of the Cabins will only be open to the public when we have programs or docents available.
During inclement weather the park will close for visitor safety.
Guided Tours
If you would like a guided tour it is $5.00 per person and all guided tours must be scheduled in advance. Please contact us at (817) 599-6168 to schedule your guided tour today!
Guided tours of Pioneer Cabin Park are not available at this time.
Traveling Trunks
Our Education department offers a trunk program where we will come to your school or organization with a trunk full of Texas history items.

Mission Statement
The mission of the James and Dorothy Doss Heritage and Culture Center is to collect, preserve, and interpret the history of Parker County through cultural and educational events that raise awareness and pride in our western heritage.
