They play guitars, banjos, harmonicas, tambourines, bones, kazoos.  They do a few vaudeville and minstrel show comedy routines.

When not touring themselves, the Gillette Brothers run The Camp St. Cafe & Store in Crockett, Texas, a live music venue that has featured some of the top perfomers in the country.  In April the Gillette Brothers will be receiving the Wrangler Award from the National Cowboy Hall of Fame in Oklahoma City along with Weatherford resident Craig Swancy.

“We are so thrilled to be able to bring these talented, family-friendly performers to Weatherford,” said Betsy Pedigo, Operations Manager. “Their mix of songs, poetry and fun will make it a night to remember.”

The Gillettes have played at major events and venues around the country including: The Smithsonian Folklife Festival in Washington DC, The National Cowboy Poetry Gathering in Elko, NV, The Arizona Cowboy Poets Gathering in Prescott, AZ; The Buffalo Bill Historical Center in Cody, WY, and The National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum in Oklahoma City, OK.  See them Here for one night only.

And they sing, Pipp, 55, in a strong baritone and Guy, 59, usually in harmony, in a pure tenor. They sing of cowboys dying on the prairie, of outlaws and horses, of lovers saying farewell, of hard times come knocking at the door.
